Tool and Workflow Management

When providing bioinformatics services and consulting to medium-sized to large experimental projects, bioinformaticians benefit from automating analysis processes and keeping them reproducible at the same time. This involves both specifying the processes and managing the tools used, especially dealing with different tool versions in different projects. This talk will discuss good practices for addressing these challenges with relatively low effort and be of interest not only for large units, but also for the individual graduate student who may face similar challenges with data and computations for her or his own thesis project.
